A solid prep plan takes most candidates 4-6 weeks. Here's the sequence that works:
- Take a diagnostic test in the first week to identify weak areas. Use the 5-question practice above or the full timed simulator.
- Review the 5 NNAAP content areas: Physical Care, Psychosocial Care, Role of the Nurse Aide, Safety, and Infection Control. Most candidates underestimate Psychosocial Care — it's 12-15% of the exam.
- Memorize the critical-step checklist for each clinical skill. Missing even one critical step fails the entire skill, and failing one skill fails the entire skills portion.
